Me and my mom went to Honduras for her 48th birthday, and it was such a vibe. She’s a flight attendant which comes with perks , so we flew standby with Spirit from FLL to IAH, then grabbed economy tickets from Houston to Roatán. The trip was quick, but packed with memories, laughs, good food, and so much beach time.

When we landed, our driver David picked us up. He helped with our bags and took us (and another sweet older couple) to our hotel. On the way, we stopped at the grocery store — stocked up on water, tequila, and snacks. The store was so clean, had everything we needed, and even had the cutest stray dogs napping outside like they owned the place. I wanted to take one home!

We stayed at the Kimpton Hotel and let me tell you… 10/10 recommend. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks (with or without alcohol — considerate for non-drinkers) and smiles from literally the friendliest and most good looking staff I’ve ever seen. I’m not exaggerating.

The lobby? Straight out of Pinterest. A tropical oasis mixed with modern boho chic. I was taking mental notes for my future home because I’m an island gyal through and through, even in the city.

The hotel had:

It was quiet but lively, the perfect balance for a family trip.

Tips Before You Go ✈️

Would I Go Back?

Absolutely. One of the most beautiful islands I’ve ever visited — amazing people, delicious food, and plenty of excursions. Next time, I’d love to come back with my boyfriend to experience more nightlife (my mom isn’t into that scene). And honestly? I’d return just for the fried fish at Sea Cat.
